Content Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
PhotoMode is a creative community. Be kind, give credit, and label content honestly.
Always prohibited
- Any sexual or suggestive content involving minors – including characters who are minors or depicted/described as under 18, regardless of claimed “actual age”. Zero tolerance; reported to authorities where required.
- Sexual content involving real people (including deepfakes and edited photos of real persons).
- Glorification of non-consensual sexual acts, sexual violence, bestiality or other illegal material.
- Harassment, hate speech, threats, doxxing, or content designed to incite violence.
- Spam, scams, malware, or content you do not have the right to share.
Mature (NSFW) content
Adult material is allowed if it is clearly labelled NSFW when uploaded or published. NSFW includes nudity, sexual content, explicit or graphic violence and other strong mature themes. All characters in sexual content must be clearly adult. NSFW content is hidden from visitors who are signed out and from members who have not opted in, is blurred by default and is excluded from search engines.
Do not use NSFW material in avatars, profile text, titles, or tags that appear on SFW pages.
Virtual photography etiquette
- Only upload screenshots/photos you took yourself. Credit mods, presets or collaborators in the caption.
- Do not upload content taken from other creators without permission.
Fan fiction
Fan fiction must be non-commercial, clearly fictional, and follow the rules above. Add content notes in the summary or tags for sensitive themes.
Original characters and story locking
Members may mark a character as their original character (OC) and lock fan fiction and backstories about it to themselves. Only genuine original creations qualify: characters that belong to a game, show, book or another creator cannot be locked. If we suspect a character is not genuinely your original character, we reserve the right to disable fic and backstory locking (and the OC label) at any time. Doing so does not remove any content.
Reporting and enforcement
Use the Report button on any item. Moderators may remove content, re-label it as NSFW, or suspend accounts. Contact [email protected] for appeals.
